The Children's Place Reports March 2003 Sales Results
SECAUCUS, N.J., Apr 10, 2003 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- The Children's Place Retail Stores, Inc. (Nasdaq: PLCE), today announced sales of $77.2 million for the five-week period ended April 5, 2003, a 5% increase compared to sales of $73.6 million reported for March 2002.
Comparable store sales for the five-week period decreased 11% as compared to a 7% decrease in the prior year period. The Company opened 12 stores during the month.
Total sales for the nine-weeks ended April 5, 2003, were $121.5 million compared to sales of $121.8 million for the same period last year. Comparable store sales decreased 16% for the nine-week period versus a 7% decrease in the same period last year.
