The Children's Place Names Kevin Mead as Senior Vice President, Director of Stores

SECAUCUS, N.J., May 04, 2005 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- The Children's Place Retail Stores, Inc. (Nasdaq: PLCE), today announced that Kevin Mead, 41, has been named Senior Vice President, Director of Stores for The Children's Place brand, reporting directly to Neal Goldberg, President of The Children's Place. Mr. Mead replaces Susan Schiller, Vice President of Store Operations, who has been named Vice President, Director of Stores for the Company's Disney Store business.

Mr. Mead is a 20-year retail veteran, having worked most recently as the Senior Vice President of Retail Stores for Polo Retail Corporation, a division of Polo Ralph Lauren Corporation. Prior to Polo, Mr. Mead spent three years with Limited Brands, in the roles of Chief Stores Officer, Vice President of aura science and Vice President, Store Operations of Victoria's Secret Beauty. Prior to Limited, Mr. Mead served in senior regional manager roles at Gap Inc.'s Old Navy division. Mr. Mead began his career in the Macy's East division of Federated Department Stores, where he spent 12 years in increasing levels of responsibility spanning merchandise buying and store management functions.
