The Children's Place Reports November 2003 Sales Results; November Sales Increased 26%; Comparable Store Sales Increased 14%

SECAUCUS, N.J., Dec 4, 2003 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- The Children's Place Retail Stores, Inc. (Nasdaq: PLCE) today announced sales of $81.0 million for the four-week period ended November 29, 2003, a 26% increase over sales of $64.3 million for the same period last year. Comparable store sales for the four-week period increased 14% versus an 18% decrease in November 2002. During the month, the Company opened four stores.

For the forty-three weeks ended November 29, 2003, total sales increased 20% to $644.3 million from $539.0 million last year. Comparable store sales for the year-to-date period increased 3% versus a 15% decrease last year. Year-to-date the Company has opened 53 stores, and closed three.
